Equipment is selected individually

For SA and E EVOLUTION, we offer E-type turntables with a pallet-truck cut-out and turntables in other diameters. We select them for load dimensions and weight, the truck used and available space.

The table shows selected configuration possibilities. The complete option list and compatibility are confirmed individually, taking account of pallet feeding, load heights, operating conditions and available utilities. Maximum weight, wrapping height and top-platen range apply to the agreed configuration.

Standard and reinforced configurations. The stated weights apply to standard versions. We design with structural reserve and can reinforce machines on request. A higher permitted load is confirmed for the ordered configuration; structural reserve alone does not authorise exceeding machine limits.

*Five-year warranty. Applies to SE, SA, E EVOLUTION and VR series machines subject to an annual inspection and the warranty terms. In powered systems, tension is regulated independently of pre-stretch.

SA or EVOLUTION?

Film optimisation in both models.
Different adjustment and top-platen options.

Wrapper SA with a powered carriage. Single-motor pre-stretch stretches the film before it reaches the load, helping to reduce consumption. The fixed ratio is selected within 150–280%; tension is adjusted independently. The optional top platen is pneumatic, with its stroke selected for the product.

Wrapper E EVOLUTION. The two-motor system provides continuously adjustable pre-stretch up to 300% and independent tension control. The standard mast is 3000 mm high. An optional electric top platen has a greater working range than the pneumatic version on SA, making it easier to handle loads of different heights. Film cutting at the end of the cycle is also available as an option.

Mast height is not automatically the maximum load-wrapping height. Wrapping height and top-platen range are confirmed for the specific configuration. We evaluate film savings in trials at the required standard of load security.

02 / Machine and film

Pre-stretch and film tension — what are we adjusting?

Pre-stretch is the preliminary stretching of film within the machine before it is applied to the load. Film tension during application is a separate parameter. Selecting both settings affects material consumption and load protection.

Machine · film · load

Choose a film system for your load

We select the machine, film system and material as one load-securing process. A brake, fixed-ratio pre-stretch and continuously adjustable pre-stretch are different solutions; the choice depends on the product, film and operating conditions.

Tension control

Brake

SE · SA · VR

A mechanical or electromagnetic brake controls film tension. It is not a powered pre-stretch system. On SA and VR, both brake versions use a multi-roller film carriage.

For Wrapper SE, we recommend appropriately selected low-stretch films. Material selection and trials help reduce wrapping cost at the required level of load security.

Fixed-ratio pre-stretch

150–280%

SA · VR — single-motor option

One motor drives the pre-stretch system. We select a fixed stretch ratio within 150–280% to suit the customer's load and film. This is not continuous adjustment of the stretch ratio during operation.

Tension between the carriage and load is adjustable independently of the fixed pre-stretch ratio.

Continuously adjustable pre-stretch

up to 300%

E EVOLUTION — two-motor system

The most advanced stretch and tension system in this series. Two motors allow continuously adjustable film pre-stretch up to 300%.

Tension is continuously adjustable independently of pre-stretch. Settings can be adapted to different products and films.

Pre-stretch
Elongation of the film between powered rollers before it is applied to the load.
Film tension
The force with which film is applied to the load. In powered systems, it is adjusted independently of pre-stretch.

SA and VR offer three alternatives: a mechanical brake, an electromagnetic brake or single-motor pre-stretch. A machine's maximum stretch ratio does not mean every film is suitable for that setting. We confirm the configuration during selection. Select your machine and film with POLPACK ZEUS.

Film systems in automatic Wrapper VO pallet-wrapping lines

We also use two-motor systems in Wrapper VO lines. Parameters are selected for the product, film and operation of the complete installation.

An example Wrapper VO specification provides 0–300% pre-stretch adjustment and 0–100% tension adjustment. These figures describe a selected VO configuration, not a common specification for the entire range. Final parameters are confirmed during technical selection.

A higher stretch ratio does not automatically mean better packaging. Suitable film properties and a trial on the actual load are required.

03 / Non-standard loads

Wrappers for tall, light and non-standard loads

At POLPACK ZEUS, we analyse dimensions, centre of gravity, loading method and product behaviour during rotation. We then select the structure and stabilising equipment.

  • Top platens: pneumatic or electric versions, matched to the machine and the product's sensitivity to pressure.
  • Fixtures and restraints: solutions for transport trolleys, windows, doors and racks.
  • Film roping: forming film into a narrower band, used in a suitable configuration to bind the load to the pallet. The operating range is agreed with transport requirements and workstation sensors in mind.
  • Wrapping heights up to 5 m: a possible custom configuration following assessment of the load, stabilisation and installation site; not standard on every model.
  • Pallet-truck cut-out turntable: a configuration that makes pallet loading with a hand pallet truck easier.
  • Demanding environments: stainless-steel construction and increased moisture resistance can be specified to suit conditions and cleaning methods.

See installations for transport trolleys, oversized windows, guarded workstations and tall loads.

04 / Production end of line

Automatic pallet wrapping and end-of-line integration

Wrapper VO automates film attachment, cutting and tail fixing. A line can be connected to roller conveyors, turntables, pallet lifts and palletising stations. SIEMENS or UNITRONICS controls and signal exchange are selected for the site.

We also offer pallet labellers and PP or PET pallet-strapping equipment. The sequence of operations and integration method are agreed for the specific process.

Assess throughput across the complete cycle: pallet delivery, wrapping, film finishing and outfeed. Machine rotation speed alone does not determine finished pallets per hour.

05 / Total process cost

How should you compare packaging cost and service support?

Compare the cost of securing one pallet at the required quality, not just machine price or pre-stretch percentage. Include film consumption, operator time, roll changes, downtime and maintenance.

POLPACK ZEUS provides machine and film selection, installation, parameter setup, operator training, service and spare parts. Trials with your own load help assess the result before choosing a configuration.

Selected Wrapper SE, SA, E EVOLUTION and VR machines have a five-year warranty subject to annual inspections and quotation terms. Confirm warranty scope and inspection costs for the equipment ordered.
